Swinger Lifestyle Resorts

The most popular tropical resorts are Desire and Hedonism II (Hedo). Desire has two resorts in Mexico, and Hedo is in Jamaica. There are two resorts called Desire in Mexico. Desire Pearl and Desire Riviera Maya (RM). There are differences in these resorts, and I am torn between the two. Desire has an exceptional staff that is very attentive and genuinely takes the time to get to know their guests. It is a classy resort that could use updating in some places, but they stay consistent with those needs. Desire Pearl has the new Mansion that was a recent addition to the resort. The Mansion is truly an experience, posh construction, private pool, butlers, bar. The design is second to none, but the price tag does not hold back. It is costly (over $1000 per night). So if you want to live a little but don’t have that in your budget, stick with the standard rooms at Desire Pearl.

At both Desire resorts, they have Playmakers that keep the energy up and play games with the guests at certain times of the day. You don’t have to partake, and nobody will pressure you to do so. Pearl has a giant hot tub that is right behind the main pool area. Many people will begin to transition to the hot tub after day drinking and being at the pool or beach. Cabanas surround the hot tub with beds in them. The lighting is very sexy as it becomes darker. Many people will take this time to be an exhibitionist or voyeur. It is not unusual to witness some sexual play in the hot tub area. There is a swim-up bar in the hot tub as well, so you don’t even have to get out to find your next shot! Late at night, Desire hosts themed parties. They will have dancers or other entertainers come to the resort for a show. Some people get really into the themes, and so people don’t at all. It’s a personal choice, so don’t stress about making sure you pack 40lbs of costumes because you’re afraid you won’t fit in. Everyone fits in!

At Desire Riviera Maya, the main pool area is a bit smaller but still has a swim-up bar. The hot tub is up a long stone flight of stairs and is significantly smaller than the hot tub at Pearl. After a day of drinking and being sun-soaked, it always makes me nervous to walk down these steps after exiting the hot tub. That would be my most significant ‘con’ for Desire RM; the hot tub just doesn’t cut it, in my opinion. Desire RM is known for hosting more of a party crowd, I didn’t notice a big difference when we went, but I hear that often.
Both Desire Pearl and Desire RM are all-inclusive; your food and alcohol are all included. They both have a spa that is a must-visit for some rest and relaxation.

If you want to head to Jamaica, Hedonism II resort will be your go-to ‘lifestyle resort.’ Hedo is an all-inclusive resort on the ocean. There are two sides to the resort, the loud ‘nude’ side, and the quieter ‘prude’ side. The nude area is a beach and pool area where in order to be present, you MUST take all your clothes off. They will ask you to step out of the nude area if you don’t disrobe a few minutes completely after arriving. The pool is typically packed day and night, and there is a hot tub in the nude pool area as well. There generally is loud music and a lively crowd at the nude pool day and night. Consider this when booking your room. If you book a room on the ‘nude’ side, it will be very loud all the time.

There is a swim-up bar in the ‘nude’ pool and a café as well. On the ‘prude’ side, you can be completely naked or completely covered at your discretion. It is much quieter, but you still have your bars and café nearby. There is a giant mess hall at Hedo, and this is where they provide the major meals each day, buffet style. This is also where the nightly shows take place. There is a large stage, and the resort will have nightly entertainment. You can stray from the main buffet meals, and there are a couple of restaurants you can choose from if you want to have a smaller, more intimate dinner. I believe you need a reservation for these restaurants. The beach and views are beautiful. The rooms could be more updated, but I think they’re currently working on that. It is a long drive from the airport in Jamaica, and by the long drive, I mean 45 mins on a windy, dirt road. Be prepared and bring some water.

Ultimately, it all boils down to the crowd you associate with while you are visiting. If there is a crowd similar to your demographics and attraction level, it’s a win-win; if there is a crowd that offers a significant age gap one way or another from you, it may not be so fun. For this reason, there are groups that travel to these resorts at certain times of the year. Signing up with a group is a way to ensure that you will be around people you are familiar with or can get to know before the trip happens. There is a good mixture of people at Hedo, and some are nudists that like the party scene but some are not.
